RESOLUTION NO. 330_1990
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, REQUESTING THE BOARD
OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF METROPOLITAN DADE
COUNTY, FLORIDA, TO EXPAND THE DADE COUNTY TRAUMA
ADVISORY COMMITTEE TO INCLUDE REPRESENTATIVES
FROM MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA.
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Dade County Office of Trauma
Services is currently being advised by a Dade County Trauma
Advisory Committee, which committee is addressing regional trauma
issues, and
WHEREAS, such Office of Trauma Services has invited Monroe
County Division of Public Safety and the Upper Keys Health Care
Taxing District to send representatives to observe the actions of
the Dade County Trauma Advisory Committee, and
WHEREAS, such committee is beginning to address the ques-
tions of regional trauma transports, as part of a county-wide
trauma plan for Dade County, and
WHEREAS, over 42% of regional trauma transports from out-of-
county into Dade County originate in Monroe County, and
WHEREAS, Monroe County has successfully addressed major
questions and procedures regarding the handling of trauma
victims, due to the necessity of transporting trauma patients
out of Monroe County to Dade County hospitals, and
WHEREAS, Monroe County is desirous of participating in any
Regional trauma plan contemplated or resulting from the Dade
County Trauma Advisory Committee recommendations, and
WHEREAS,
such Regional trauma plan may be further
implemented through later interlocal agreements between Monroe
County and Metropolitan Dade County, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County that the government of Metropolitan Dade County is
requested to provide for the appointment of two (2) Monroe County
governmental representatives to the Dade County Trauma Advisory
Committee, so as to aid in the development and furtherization of
incorporation or regional considerations into the Metropolitan
Dade County Trauma Plan.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of County Commis-
sioners of Monroe County hereby recommends such appointments to
be the Proj ect Director of the Upper Keys Health Care Taxing
District and the Director of the Public Safety Division of Monroe
County.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting of the Board held on
the 20th day of June, 1990.
