Ordinance 022-1988 -, County Commission ORDINANCE NO. 022 -1988 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY TO ISSUE PROCLAMATIONS WITHOUT PRIOR APPROVAL OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES ARE PARTS OF ORDI- NANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH TO THE EXTENT OF SAID CONFLICT; PROVIDING FOR INCLUSION IN THE MONROE COUNTY CODE; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, occasions arise where issuance of proclamations are necessary by the Mayor and Chairman of the Monroe County Commis- sion, and WHEREAS, occasions arise when it is not practical to await the meeting of the County Commission to approve and issue such proclamations, now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, as follows: Section 1. The Mayor and Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County, Florida, is hereby empowered to issue proclamations, in his discretion, that concern Monroe County in the capacity as Mayor and Chairman of said Commission without the necessity of a meeting and consent of the Board of County Commissioners. Section 2. That the issuance of Proclamations may be rendered without a meeting and the consent of the County Commis- sion. Section 3. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause or provision of this ordinance is held invalid, the remainder of said ordinance shall not be affected by such invalidity. Section 4. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of any such conflict. Section 5. The provisions of this ordinance shall be included and incorporated into the Monroe County Code as an addition or amendment thereto and shall be appropriately numbered to conform with the uniform numbering system of the Code. Section 6. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon receipt of official notice from the Office of the Secretary of State of the State of Florida that this ordinance has been filed with said Office.
