029 -1988
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR PUBLIC HEARINGS
SHOULD THE COUNTY COMMISSION OF MONROE COUNTY
INTEND OR DES IRE TO TRANSFER THE VETERANS
AFFAIRS DEP ARTMENT OF MONROE COUNTY TO ANY
DEPARTMENT; PROVIDING THAT SAID VETERANS
AFFAIRS DEPARTMENT SHALL REMAIN UNDER THE
DIRECT SUPERVISION OF THE COUNTY
ADMINISTRATOR; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY;
PROVIDING FOR REPEAL OF ALL ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT HEREWITH; PROVIDING FOR
INCORPORATION INTO THE MONROE COUNTY CODE;
AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, at one time, the Veterans Affairs Department was
transferred to another department of Monroe County, and
WHEREAS, the County Commission desires to transfer it back
to the jurisdiction and administrative control of the County
Administrator; now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA as follows:
Section 1.
That the Veterans Affairs Office of Monroe
County be and the same is hereby confirmed to be under the
direct jurisdiction and administrative control of the County
Administrator of Monroe County.
Section 2. That any proposed change concerning the transfer
of the Veterans Affairs Department to another department or
removal of the same from the direct jurisdiction of the County
Administrator occurs, it will require three public hearings to be
duly noticed, and only after such public hearings can any such
proposed change be made.
Section 3. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause or
provision of this Ordinance is held invalid, the remainder of
this Ordinance shall not be affected by such invalidity.
Section 4. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in con-
flict with this Ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of
said conflict.
Section 5. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately
upon receipt of official notice from the Office of the Secretary
of State of the State of Florida that this Ordinance has been
filed with said Office.

proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and
evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.
Copies of the above-referenced ordinance are available for
review at the various public libraries in Monroe County, Florida.
