Tanju Mishara Proclamation
Whereas,
Tanju Mishara earned her Bachelor of Arts at Michigan State University,
Masters at University of Maine in Clinical Psychology and in 1974 earned a Ph.D. from
University of Maine in Clinical Psychology and;
Whereas,
since 1968 she has worked helping people with Substance Abuse and Mental
Health disorders at a Veterans Administration Hospital, Women’s Correctional Center,
Counseling Center in Maine and;
Whereas,
she was a counselor at the Marine Hospital, Lafayette Clinic, Northville State
Hospital in Michigan and;
Whereas,
she was a Psychological Consultant, Assistant Professor in Massachusetts and;
Whereas,
Tanju Mishara was a lecturer and full-time Professor in Montreal, Quebec and;
Whereas,
obviously seeking a warmer climate in 1983 she began her work at the Care
Center for Mental Health in Key West, Florida serving as Clinical Director,
Psychological Consultant, and Site Manager and;
Whereas,
since 1983 Tanju Mishara has provided service to thousands of people in the
Florida Keys including service to Military personnel, DePoo Doctor’s Hospital, Child
Protection Team and the Monroe County Public Schools and;
Whereas,
after 40 years of work of which 24 years have been in the Florida Keys, Tanju
has decided to work part-time and we are all glad she is still working on behalf of the
residents of Monroe County.
