Item Background:
Kathryn Wheeler is a resident of Big Pine Key and, in accordance with Section 2-
400(a) of Monroe County Code, will serve as the Lower Keys resident on the Land Authority Advisory
Committee. Ms. Wheeler has lived in the Keys since 1993, is a former president of the Big Pine Key
Civic Association, and is currently a member of the Key Deer Protection Alliance. Ms. Wheeler will fill
the seat vacated when Denise Werling resigned to accept an appointment to the Monroe County
Planning Commission.
