A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS FOR MONROE COUNTY
RECOMMENDING TO GOVERNOR SCOTT THE APPOINTMENT OF KARL BORGLUM AS
MONROE COUNTY PROPERTY APPRAISER.
WHEREAS, Ervin Higgs has submitted his resignation from his elected position as Monroe County Property
Appraiser prior to the end of his term; and
WHEREAS, Governor Scott shall have the opportunity to appoint someone to fill out Mr. Higgs' term; and
WHEREAS, Karl Borglum has ably served as Mr. Higgs' second -in- command for a number of years; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Borglum has made numerous presentations to the Board of County Commissioners and the
Value Adjustment Board of Monroe County, providing much needed information about the office budget and
the appraisal process, and, most importantly, understandable explanations about the tax implications of
declining market values in recent years; and
WHEREAS, Mr'. Borglum has proved his ability to serve the public and to lead the Office of the Property
Appraiser in a fair and trustworthy manner; now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS FOR MONROE COUNTY that:
1. The Board highly recommends to Governor Scott the appointment of Karl Borglum as Monroe County
Property Appraiser.
2. The Clerk is directed to forward copies of this resolution to the Office of the Governor.
