A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF GOVERNORS OF
FIRE AND AMBULANCE DISTRICT 1, MONROE
COUNTY, FLORIDA ELECTING A CHAIRPERSON AND
VICE - CHAIRPERSON.
WHEREAS, Section 1 of Ordinance No. 045 -1988 provides that the Chairperson of the
Board of Governors of Fire and Ambulance District 1 shall be elected by the District Governing
Board for a one year term which may be successive; and
WHEREAS, it has become necessary for the members of the Board of Governors of Fire
and Ambulance District 1 to elect a Chairperson and Vice - Chairperson;
WHEREAS, on December 14, 2016, the Board of Governors elected Mayor George
Neugent as Chairperson and Mayor Pro Tern David Rice as Vice - Chairperson; however, the
election was not done by resolution of the Board of Governors of Fire And Ambulance District 1
as required pursuant to Ordinance No. 045 -1988; now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF GOVERNORS OF FIRE AND
AMBULANCE DISTRICT 1, MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA:
Section 1. George Neugent is hereby elected as Chairperson of the Board of
Governors of Fire and Ambulance District 1 of Monroe County, Florida.
Section 2. David Rice is hereby elected as Vice - Chairperson of the Board of
Governors of Fire and Ambulance District 1 of Monroe County.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Governors of Fire and Ambulance District 1
of Monroe County, Florida at a regular meeting of said Board held on the 18` day of January,
2017.
