RESOLUTION NO. 156 -2015
A RESOLUTION BY THE MONROE COUNTY BOARD OF
COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WAIVING THE PROHIBITION
AGAINST ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION AT THE COUNTY
PROPERTY KNOWN AS ROWELL' S MARINA IN SUPPORT
OF THE KEY LARGO VOLUNTEER DEPARTMENT AND KEY
LARGO VOLUNTEER AMBULANCE DEPARTMENT
ANNUAL COMMUNITY INDEPENDENCE DAY
CELEBRATION.
WHEREAS, the Key Largo Volunteer Fire Department and Key Largo Volunteer
Ambulance Department is a not - for -profit organization; and
WHEREAS, Monroe County desires to support events put forth by the Key
Largo Volunteer Fire Department and Key Largo Volunteer Ambulance Department for
purposes of community recreation and entertainment, and
WHEREAS, the Key Largo Volunteer Fire Department and Key Largo Volunteer
Ambulance Department is holding a Community Independence Day Celebration on July
4, 2015; and
WHEREAS, the Key Largo Volunteer Fire Department and Key Largo Volunteer
Ambulance Department will be on the property offering alcohol for sale; and
WHEREAS, the Key Largo Volunteer Fire Department and Key Largo Volunteer
Ambulance Department will have vendors on the property with bounce houses; and
WHEREAS, the Key Largo Volunteer Fire Department and Key Largo Volunteer
Ambulance Department has requested a waiver of the county's prohibition against
possessing alcohol in the County property known as Rowell's Marina; and
WHEREAS, the Key Largo Volunteer Fire Department and Key Largo Volunteer
Ambulance Department has requested a waiver of the county's prohibition against
bounce houses in the County property known as Rowell's Marina; and
WHEREAS, Monroe County Code section 18- 25(b)(2) authorizes the Monroe
County Board of County Commissioners to waive the prohibition upon a resolution of the
board;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the Monroe County
Board of County Commissioners finds that the Key Largo Volunteer Fire Department and
Key Largo Volunteer Ambulance Department is a non -profit organization and that the
Key Largo Volunteer Fire Department and Key Largo Volunteer Ambulance Department
is providing security guards in a number sufficient to preserve the public order and has

obtained liability insurance naming Monroe County as an additional insured, all as
required under M.C.C. sec, 18- 25(b)(2), and hereby waives the prohibition against
alcohol possession at the County property known as Rowell's Marina on July 4, 2015
from 6 p.m. until 10:30 p.m.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe
County, Florida, at a regular meeting held on the 10 th day of June , 2015.
