AGENDA ITEM WORDING: Approval of Commissioner Carruthers' appointment of Teri
Johnston to the Monroe County Planning Commission as replacement for Elizabeth Lustberg who
resigned in March 2017.
ITEM BACKGROUND: Teri Johnston, is co -owner of Affiliated Design and Construction
Managers, LLC and former Key West City District 5 Commissioner. She has been President of Fair
Insurance Rates in Monroe (FIRM), and has acted as City Liaison for the New Key West City Hall,
Higgs Beach Restoration project, City of Key West Audit and Finance, Community Housing and
Historic Architectural Restoration Committees (HARC). She has won several community awards
for leadership and was a 3 -time Collegiate All American Softball player — 2 base.
Ms. Johnston currently sits on the Monroe County Land Authority but intends to resign upon
confirmation of her appointment to the Planning Commission. She would replace Liz Lutzberg as
Commissioner Carruthers' appointee. Ms. Lutzberg resigned in March.
