ITEM BACKGROUND: The City of Key West has requested an extension to the termination date
of the Agreement to allow for completion of project.

THIS AMENDMENT to Agreement dated this day of 2017, is entered Into by and
between the Board of County Commissioners for Monroe County, on behalf of the Tourist
DevelopmentCouncil, and - City of - West aGovernment agency organized and operating
underof - state of Florida
WHEREAS, there was an Agreement entered into on April 20, 2016 between the parties,
9warding $225,000 to Grantee forthe Smathers Beach Restroom. Project.
WHEREAS, it has become necessary to revise the termination date of the agreement to
March 31, 2018 to allow for completion of the proiject,

agree to the amend Agreement as follows:
I Paragraph 1 of the agreement shall be revised to read as follows: This Agreement is
for period ofApril f 2016 to March 31, 2018.Agreement - effect forthe
compliance with paragraphs 7, 12 or 13 of the original Agreement dated April 20. 2016.
2. Any references to termination date and submission of invoices shall be revised to read
March 31, stated period unless one party gives to the other written notification of termination pursuant to and in
force3. The remaining provisions of the agreement dated April 20, 2016 shall remain in full

Request for 6-month time extension to grant award agreement
Dear District I Advisory Committee:
The City of Key West respectfully requests a 6-month time extension to the Grant Agreement
Period of the Smathers Beach Restroom Facility Project, Contract ID #1651. if approved, the
time extension will move the expiration of the agreement to March 31, 2018.
The City and Architect Bermello Ajamil have been diligently proceeding with design of the
Smathers Beach restroom facility. Remaining work includes final revisions to the construction
drawings following City review of the sanitary sewer lift station and issuance of the Florida DOT
permit for utility line crossing of South Roosevelt Boulevard. Following final completion of the
100% construction documents in February, the project is expected to be bid during March with
contract award in April. While completion of construction by September 30, 2017 is possible,
the City is requesting a 6-month time extension of the grant to ensure adequate time is available
for final completion, payment and documentation assembly/submittal to TDC.
