AGENDA ITEM WORDING: Approval of a resolution approving the airport policy for
distribution of American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) & Airports Council
International (ACI -NA) Hurricane disaster Relief Grant Funds as set forth by the Director of
Airports, and approval of a resolution concerning the receipt of unanticipated funds.
ITEM BACKGROUND: On October 11, 2017 the airport was notified of the availability of
Hurricane MMA Relief Fund assistance available to Monroe County Airport employees. On
October 16, 2017 the Airport Director applied for the relief funds. On October 18, 2017 the AAAE
organization notified the Airport that Monroe County's share of the fund was approximately $9,298.
In accordance with the conditions of the funding, the Director of Airports established a Policy on
October 26, 2017 for the equal distribution of funds amongst Monroe County Airport employees.
The Airport Director and Assistant Director declined to be included in the fund distribution.

category 4 hurricane, 11 impacts of II were felt from Key West to Key Largo and beyond,
affecting all of our stiff
The Monroe County Airport department consists of two airport% Key West International Airport and
The Florida Keys Marat' ' o' - ' n International Airport with a total of 17 employees. Each and every
employee felt tire impa of the storm, with some employees still living in temporary housing

WHEREAS, it is necessary for the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County, Florida, to increase items
to account for the rollover for unanticipated funds in the Monroe County Budget for the Fiscal Year 2018 now
therefore,
