AGENDA ITEM WORDING: Approval of Resolution requesting the Florida Department of
Transportation and United States Department of Transportation to replace the Snake Creek Bridge
with a fixed bridge or tunnel to allow an unrestricted flow of vehicle and vessel traffic and that can
accommodate two north bound lanes of evacuating traffic.
ITEM BACKGROUND: The Board directed staff to prepare a resolution to present to the Florida
Department of Transportation (FDOT) and the United State Department of Transportation requesting
for the Snake Creek Bridge to be replacement with a fixed bridge or tunnel that would allow for
unrestricted flow for vehicle and vessel traffic.
PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOCC ACTION: At the 10/18/17 BOCC meeting,
After the FDOT presented its 5 year work plan to the BOCC, the Board directed for Staff to prepare
a resolution regarding the Snake Creek Bridge
