AGENDA ITEM WORDING: Approval of 2nd Amendment to contract with Cliffhanger
Janitorial, Inc., for janitorial services at Key West International Airport, renewing the agreement for
one (1) year and increasing annual contract amount from $403,294.92/yr. to $411,764.11/yr. for
annual CPI adjustment of 2.1 %.
ITEM BACKGROUND: The County held a bid opening on December 3, 2015, following the
issuance of a notice of competitive solicitation for janitorial services at KWIA. Clifthanger
Janitorial (Cliffhanger) was determined to be the most responsive bidder, and on February 10, 2016,
the BOCC awarded the bid and contract to Cliffhanger for one -year with three (3) one -year renewal
options. On March 15, 2017, the BOCC approved the First Amendment to contract, extending the
agreement for one (1) year (contract year two) and increasing annual contract to $403,294.92/yr. for
annual CPI adjustment. This is the second one -year renewal (contract year three) and one (1) one -
year renewal option remains.
PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOCC ACTION:
Approved request to advertise for bids for janitorial services on May 20, 2015, and awarded bid and
contract to Cliffhanger Janitorial, Inc. on February 10, 2016. Approved First Amendment to contract
on March 15, 2017.
CONTRACT /AGREEMENT CHANGES:
Effective March 1, 2018, contract renews for a third one -year term (with one (1) one -year renewal
option remaining thereafter), and annual contract amount increases from $403,294.92/yr. to
$411,764.11/yr. for annual CPI adjusment of 2.1 %.

THIS FIRST AMENDMENT is made and entered into this day of _,
2018, by and between the Board Of County Commissioners of MONROE COUNTY (County) and
Cliffhanger Janitorial, Inc., (Contractor ').
WHEREAS, on February 10, 2016 the parties entered into an agreement ` -
