AGENDA ITEM WORDING: Approval of change orders 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13 with OAC
Action Construction Corp., increasing contract time by 84 days and contract sum by $111,193.37 for
the Key West International Airport Customs Facility Phase II project, funded by FDOT grant (50 %)
and Fund 404 Operating (50 %).
ITEM BACKGROUND: Change Order #8 adds 30 days and $57,017.99 for additional work to
revised civil drawings revised October 12, 2017, that includes new concrete curbs, sidewalk, sod,
limerock, ADA ramp and fill for underside of crawl space.
Change Order #9 adds 21 days and $16,019.04 for additional work installing lighting and fire
sprinkler in the crawl space that are not part of the original plans and are part of the revised plans.
Change Order #10 adds 21 days and $31,291.77 for additional work for installing new galvanized
steel stair with reinforced concrete pads which are not part of the original plans and are part of the
revised civil plans.
Change Order #11 adds 7 days and $7,295.19 for additional work for installation of extra steel
angles on the perimeter of the building to properly secure the steel joists and decks of the new
building.
Change Order #12 adds 5 days and $3,833.82 for use of copper lines instead of PVC as requested.
Change Order #13 is a credit of $4,264.44 for cameras not being installed during this phase of the
project.
PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOCC ACTION: Approval of original agreement with OAC on
December 9, 2015, and approval of First Amendment to Agreement on February 15, 2017, adding
grant compliance conditions to the original agreement. Approval of Change Orders #6 and #7 on
January 17, 2018.
CONTRACT /AGREEMENT CHANGES:
Adds 84 days bringing substantial completion to February 21, 2018 and $111,193.37 bringing total
contract sum to $1,598,941.36.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Approval.
