permanent replacement for Mayte Santamaria is hired and confirmed by the Board.
ITEM BACKGROUND:
Planning and Environmental Resources Director Mayte Santamaria has
resigned effective 2/21/18. Assistant County Administrator Christine Hurley has the credentials and
experience to fill in as director until a permanent replacement is hired and confirmed by the Board.
Florida law requires that the Board of County Commissioners confirm all department heads. Because
the Land Development Code vests the Director of Planning and Environmental Resources with the
authority to make binding interpretations of the code, formal confirmation of the interim director is
being sought.
