ITEM BACKGROUND: Five bids were received in response to a request for proposals for the construction of the Marathon Library & Adult Education Center. The bids were opened on February stnd 20, 2018. Subsequently, significant changes were made to design and specifications of the 1 and 2 floor plans. These redesigned plans are now complete and staff has published a new solicitation for proposals based on the revised designs and specifications. The County Attorney advises and staff recommends that all of the proposals received from the original solicitation be formally rejected in anticipation of the receipt of new proposals. th PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOCC ACTION: 6/20/18 - BOCC approved a 4 Amendment to the Professional Services Agreement with Synalovski Romanick Saye, LLC. (SRS) for the revisions to stnd the 1 and 2 floor plan to accommodate a more open floor plan providing the ability to reconfigure library to the second floor, reposition the adult section for the first floor, enclose the covered terraces, update the building elevations, and 10/21/15 - BOCC approved a contract with SRS for the design though construction administration of a new public library in Marathon. Other action not requiring BOCC approval included a First Amendment to Agreement with SRS to include services for a solar feasibility study as required by Resolution of the Climate Change Advisory Committee. A Second Amendment was approved by staff to include services for a re- design of an area at the library requested by staff, and a Third Amendment was approved by staff for services to include alternate plans for separate roof top solar systems.
