AGENDA ITEM WORDING: Issuance (renewal) of a Class B Certificate of Public Convenience
and Necessity (COPCN) to Healthcare Ride Transportation, Inc. d/b/a HealthCare Ride for the
operation of a non-emergency medical transportation service for the period February 18, 2019 to
February 17, 2021.
ITEM BACKGROUND: In February of 2015 a Public Hearing was held and a Class B COPCN
was issued to Healthcare Ride Transportation, Inc. to operate a non-emergency medical
transportation service in all geographical locations of Monroe County, Florida. This certificate was
renewed for a two-year period on February 17, 2017. In view of the foregoing Healthcare Ride
Transportation, Inc. is applying to renew this COPCN which would become effective February 18,
2019.
PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOCC ACTION: On 2/18/15, BOCC approved the issuance of a Class
B COPCN to Healthcare Ride Transportation, Inc. for the operation of a non-emergency medical
transportation service for the period 2/18/15 to 2/17/17. On 2/15/17, item C.14 BOCC approved
renewal of Class B COPCN to Healthcare Ride Transportation for the period 2/18/17 to 2/17/19.
CONTRACT/AGREEMENT CHANGES:
Renewal period will cover February 18, 2019 - February 17, 2021
