Annual cost of the lease is $154,374 and is paid from ad valorem funds. ITEM BACKGROUND: This Lease is for an initial period of up to three (3) years beginning February 1, 2019, through January 31, 2022, for 4,339 square feet (SF) in the Professional Plaza Building at 1111 12th Street, Suites 301, 302, 311 and 312, Key West, Florida 33040. The lease at the existing location on Eisenhower Avenue in Key West expires on March 31, 2019, and the owner has advised that he will not agree to an extension. County staff is seeking the purchase of a building ase currently under consideration will also require significant buildout that will result in more time than the current location lease provides. The interim location lease terms provide for multiple three (3) year extensions as a precaution since no firm purchase agreements for a new location are in place. The Lease also provides for termination should space become available in a County or State owned building. PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOCC ACTION: None.
