AGENDA ITEM WORDING: Approval of a resolution of the Board of Governors of Fire and
Ambulance District 1 (BOG) electing the Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson of the BOG for 2019,
as required by Ordinance No. 045-1988.
ITEM BACKGROUND: On 1/17/18, the Board of Governors of Fire and Ambulance District 1
(BOG) adopted Resolution No. 024-2018 electing Commissioner George Neugent as Chairperson
and Commissioner David Rice as Vice Chairperson for 2018. The BOG Chairperson and Vice-
Chairperson are elected annually and it is now necessary for the BOG to elect the Chairperson and
Vice-Chairperson, by resolution, for 2019.
At this meeting, the Board of County Commissioners will also be designating, by resolution, the
three (3) County Commissioners to serve on the BOG for 2019 representing the County
Commission.
Adoption of this resolution by the Board of Governor satisfies the requirements for the annual
election of the Chairperson & Vice-Chairperson of the Board of Governors as set forth in Ordinance
No. 045-1988.

BOCC 1/17/18 (C1) BOCC adopted Resolution No. 023-2018 designating Commissioners Neugent,
Rice and Kolhage as the three (3) Commissioners to represent the County Commission on the BOG
for 2018
BOG 1/17/18 (H1) BOG adopted Resolution No. 024-2018 electing George Neugent as Chairperson
and David Rice as Vice-Chairperson of the BOG for 2018

RESOLUTION NO. ______ -2019
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF GOVERNORS OF FIRE
AND AMBULANCE DISTRICT 1, MONROE COUNTY,
FLORIDA ELECTING A CHAIRPERSON AND VICE-
CHAIRPERSON.
WHEREAS, Section 1.b) of Ordinance No. 045-1988 provides that the Chairperson and
Vice-Chairperson of the Board of Governors of Fire and Ambulance District 1 shall be elected by
the District Governing Board for a one year term which may be successive; and
WHEREAS, on January 17, 2018, the Board of Governors adopted Resolution No. 024-
2018 electing George Neugent as Chairperson and David Rice as Vice-Chairperson; and
WHEREAS, it has become necessary for the members of the Board of Governors of Fire
and Ambulance District 1 to elect a Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson for 2019;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF GOVERNORS OF
FIRE AND AMBULANCE DISTRICT 1, MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA:
Section 1. ________________________ is hereby elected as Chairperson of the Board
of Governors of Fire and Ambulance District 1 of Monroe County, Florida.
Section 2. ________________________ is hereby elected as Vice-Chairperson of the
Board of Governors of Fire and Ambulance District 1 of Monroe County, Florida.
