AGENDA ITEM WORDING: Approval to advertise a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for
Continuing Engineering and Surveying Services for miscellaneous projects in which construction
costs do not exceed $500,000.00 or for study activity if the fee for professional services for each
individual study does not exceed $50,000.00.
ITEM BACKGROUND: In October 2015, Project Management entered into agreements with
seven (7) of the highest ranked respondents to a Request for Qualifications for Professional
Engineering and Surveying Continuing Services. The agreements were for smaller projects up to
$100,000.00 in construction costs or for individual study activities that did not exceed $10,000.00.
These agreements will be expiring this coming October and Project Management wishes to advertise
a new RFQ for similar services. In order to better serve the department's needs, Project Management
desires to advertise the RFQ for Professional Engineering and Surveying Continuing Services to
include projects that do not exceed $500,000.00 in construction costs or for individual studies that do
not exceed $50,000.00.
PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOCC ACTION:
3/18/15 —BOCC gave approval to advertise an RFQ for Continuing Engineering and Surveying
Services.
10/21/15 —BOCC approved agreements with seven (7) of the highest ranked consultants
