ITEM BACKGROUND: The Federal Government opened applications for the Bulletproof Vest
Partnership Program grant again this year. The Monroe County Sheriffs Office is requesting the
authorization for the third year, from the BOCC to act as jurisdiction (applicant/contact). The Program
provides up to 50% of the cost of law enforcement bulletproofvests...a cost we incur every year for
the safety of our officers. This program has provided us over $70,000 in reimbursements for vest
purchases over the last three years.
PREVIOUS REVELANT BOCC ACTION:
The BOCC has granted authorization, to the Monroe County Sheriffs Office, to act as Jurisdiction for
the last three (3) years.
