Item Background: This item is proposed to assist in implementing the Comprehensive Plan
requirement for wastewater facilities in the Middle Keys.
The Land Authority has been requested to pre-acquire a pump station site on Conch Key for ultimate
conveyance to either Monroe County or the Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority (FKAA). Staff has
coordinated with the FKAA on the site location and has negotiated an agreement with Coral Key Village
Homeowners Association for the purchase of a 60' x 80' parcel (0.1 acre) fronting US 1 on the
oceanside of Conch Key, together with the necessary easements. The parcel is zoned Commercial
Fishing Special District 16. The agenda packet spreadsheet lists the purchase price and anticipated
closing costs for this transaction.
Advisory Committee Action: On 1/22/02 the Advisory Committee voted 5/0 to approve this purchase.
