AGENDA ITEM WORDING: Approval of an Interlocal Agreement with the City of Marathon to
authorize the transfer of funds to Monroe County for the funding of the Florida Keys Affordable
Housing Coordinator.
ITEM BACKGROUND: The BOCC has previously agreed that the County would serve as the
administrator of funds on behalf of participating government and non-governmental entities for
supporting the services of the Affordable Housing Coordinator. The Florida Department of
Community Affairs prepared an Interlocal Agreement for each participating governmental entity for
execution by that government and the County. The amount of funds committed by the City of
Marathon in this Interlocal Agreement is $13,000.
PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOCC ACTION: The BOCC approved the advertising of a Request for
Qualifications from qualified affordable housing consultant firms on December 20, 2001, to provide
services as Florida Keys Affordable Housing Coordinator.
