AGENDA ITEM WORDING: Approval to waive purchasing policies and procedures and issue a
purchase order to Commercial Laundry Equipment Co., Inc. for $26,876 for two (2) new Industrial
Washers for the Monroe County Detention Center on Stock Island.
ITEM BACKGROUND: Staff thought the cost to the replace two washers would be under $25,000
and requested quotes from vendors. Of the four (4) quotes received, Commercial Laundry Equipment,
submitted the first at lowest price.
PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOCC ACTION: Funding was approved in the FY2005 adopted budget
to replace this equipment which has outlived its useful life and is beyond economical repair.

Attached are four proposals for the replacement of two industrial
washers within the Laundry at the Monroe County Detention Center.
The replacement of these two washers was approved within the fiscal
year 2005 adopted budget. The remaining two original washers are
proposed to be replaced in the fiscal year 2006 budget. The proposals
are as follows:
Commercial Laundry Equipment Co. $26,876.00
Southeastern Laundry Equipment $28,420.00
Alliance Laundry Systems
Proposal for four units-Extended amount $35,546.00
Lapsco, Inc
Proposal for one unit & included tax
Corrected extended amount $29,600.00
After conferring with Purchasing, approval is requested of the attached
Purchase Order Request to Commercial Laundry Equipment Co. for
$26,876.00.
