AGENDA ITEM WORDING: Discussion and direction to staff regarding creating a current
inventory record of affordable ownership and rental workforce housing in Monroe County.
Inventory should include both public ownership rentals and private rentals.
ITEM BACKGROUND: The County does not have a current inventory of affordable ownership
and rental workforce housing. Without this it is very difficult to accurately gauge how much
additional housing is needed, reflect housing losses, and measure significant progress.
PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOCC ACTION: BOCC approved at May 18, 2005 meeting to hire
Steve Seibert as a consultant to address affordable housing issues in Monroe County.
