AGENDA ITEM WORDING: Approval to issue a purchase order to All Counties Recycling &
Waste Processing, Inc. for removal of construction and demolition debris at the Upper Keys
Government Center site.
ITEM BACKGROUND: Staff has obtained (2) two price quotes for the removal of debris from
the Upper Keys Government Center site. All Counties Recycling will remove and dispose of all
construction and demolition debris for $20 a cubic yard. Waste Management's negotiated rate
was $60 per ton. Using a conversion factor of 1 cubic yard equals Y:z ton, there is an approximate
savings of 33% by All Counties Recycling over the negotiated rate from Waste Management.
PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOCC ACTION: On August 18, 2004 the BOCC approved the
demolition and clearing of the Quay property.
