A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA
ELECTING A MAYOR/CHAIRPERSON AND MAYOR PRO TEM.
WHEREAS,F.S. 125.01(1)(a)vests the Board with the authority to select its own officers;
and
WHEREAS, the Chair and Vice Chair of the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe
County, Florida have been designated by special act and local ordinance as the Mayor and Mayor
Pro Tern, respectively of Monroe County; and
WHEREAS, it time for the Board to elect a Mayor/Chairperson and Mayor Pro Tern for
said Board for a one year period; now,therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA THAT:
Section 1. Commissioner David Rice is hereby designated Mayor
and Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County,
Florida.
Section 2. Commissioner Craig Cates is hereby designated
Mayor Pro Tem of the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe
County, Florida.

Florida, at a regular meeting of said Board held on the 17t►1 day of November, 2021
