AGENDA ITEM WORDING: Approval to reject bids for the West Martello Fencing project, and
approval to re -design.
ITEM BACKGROUND: The three bids received on September 1, 2010 for the Replacement of the
Perimeter Fencing at the West Martello Towers all exceeded the budget from the TDC. Staff
recommends repairing the existing fencing in lieu of replacing the fencing to significantly lower the
costs.
PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOCC ACTION: On May 19, 2010, the BOCC approved a Contract for
Professional Services with Bender & Associates Architects, P.A. for the Design through Contract
Administration for the Replacement of the Perimeter Fencing at the West Martello Towers.
CONTRACT/AGREEMENT CHANGES: Change the scope of work to repair the existing fencing
in lieu of replacement.
STAFF RECOMMENDATIONS: Approval as stated above.
