AGENDA ITEM WORDING: Approval to advertise a public hearing for a Budget Amendment for
Fire and EMS Impact Fees Fund 135.
ITEM BACKGROUND: To align the budget in Fund 135 with revenues and expenditures in order to
complete the fire hydrant project in Districts 1, 3 and Key Colony Beach. The project was scheduled to
be completed by the end of FY2010 but with delays the project has been pushed into FY11.
PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOCC ACTION: The BOCC on September 17, 2010, adopted the
FY2011 Operating and Capital Budgets. On July 21, 2010, the BOCC approved to spend District 1,
District 3 and KCB District Fire and EMS Impact Fees to install 23 fire hydrants at strategic locations
in the areas of unincorporated Monroe County and issue a Purchase Order to J.A. LaRocco Enterprises,
Inc. for the same.

There were some delays due to permitting issues with the FKAA. The project is continuing and will extend into 2011/
I sent an email to Tina Boan a week or so ago to ask how to handle the 2010 PO. Should I close and redo for 2011 or can
she roll the PO? I still have not heard either way.
How should I handle it?

Yesterday the BOCC approved our Impact Fee Agenda item for the installation of the 23 fire hydrants.
I went into the finance system today to pull the PO and it is asking for a project number. Do you have to do something to
assign a project number for these so I can pull the PO's?
