AGENDA ITEM WORDING: Approval to advertise for sealed bids for the maintenance of Monroe
County Fire Rescue vehicles (ambulances), including inspections, preventative maintenance, and
unscheduled maintenance and repairs resulting from failure or malfunction.
ITEM BACKGROUND: Monroe County Fire Rescue must maintain all ambulances readiness,
including preventative maintenance, unscheduled maintenance and repairs resulting from failure or
malfunction. The current contractor providing this service is at the end of their contract due to expire
on February 28, 2011. It is now necessary to advertise for sealed bids and subsequently enter into a new
contract with the successful bidder.
PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOG ACTION: On February 17, 2010, the Board approved the third and
final renewal agreement effective March 1, 2010 through February 28, 2011 with the current contractor
for maintenance of ambulances including inspections, preventative maintenance and unscheduled
maintenance and repairs resulting from failure or malfunction.
