AGENDA ITEM WORDING: Approval of a First Amendment to the Task Order with William
Horn Architect, P.A. in the amount of $7,000.00 for the design through construction administration
of the renovation of the temporary Fleet Maintenance Department offices on Rockland Key. This
First Amendment increase the scope of services due to requested changes in design by Monroe
County staff. Funded by One Cent Infrastructure Sales Tax.
ITEM BACKGROUND: The County recently leased space located at 111 Overseas Hwy,
Rockland Key for the temporary location of the Monroe County Fleet department. A Task Order
with William P. Horn, Architects for Professional Architectural and Engineering Services for the
build out of office space and bathrooms for the relocation of the Monroe County Fleet Department
was approved by the BOCC in May 2021 in the amount of $58,600.00. Construction has commenced
and during that time, the County has requested multiple revisions to the design plans resulting in
fee by $7,000.00 for those additional design services for a total fee of $65,600.00.
PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOCC ACTION:
3/17/21 BOCC approved a lease agreement with Rockland Investment Corp. for the interim Fleet
Maintenance department location on Rockland Key.
5/19/21 BOCC approved a Task Order w/ William Horn for the design through construction
administration for the temporary fleet relocation.
