AGENDA ITEM WORDING: Approval to re-appoint Mr. Steve R. Henson, Eng I 222A to one
(1) three (3) year term to the Contractors Examining Board (CEB) beginning May 22, 2022 and
ending May 22, 2025 as Engineering Contractor.
ITEM BACKGROUND: The Contractors Examining Board (CEB) voted unanimously
recommending the re-appointment of Mr. Steve R. Henson to the CEB at their regularly scheduled
March 8, 2022 meeting.
PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOCC ACTION: Mr. Steve R. Henson was originally appointed to one
(1) three (3) year term to the CEB beginning September 17, 1997 and ending October 18, 2000
replacing Mr. Frank Toppino. He was allowed to serve one (1) three (3) year term, re-appointment
from October 2000 and ending October 2003. He was re-appointed October 2003 and ending
October 2006. After this term, he was not allowed to serve an additional consecutive three (3) year
term do to term limits pursuant to MCC 6-85.
Mr. Henson was appointed to serve one (1) three (3) year term May 16, 2007 and ending May 16,
2010. He was re-appointed to serve one (1) three (3) year term May 19, 2010 and ending May 19,
2013: re-appointed May 15, 2013 and ending May 15, 2016; re-appointed April 20, 2016 and ending

May 15, 2019; re-appointed May 22 2019 and ending May 22, 2022.
On March 21, 2007, the BOCC approved advertising the amendment to M.C.C. Section 6-85
repealing term limits for member of the CEB. The ordinance was amended effective May 2, 2007
removing term limitations. Per M.C.C. 6-264(a), regular voting members and two alternate voting
members are appointed by the Board of County Commission (BOCC).
