AGENDA ITEM WORDING: Approval to re-appoint Mr. Gary Centonze, CFC1425735, to one
(1) additional three (3) year term to the Contractor Examining Board (CEB) beginning May 22, 2022
and ending May 22, 2025 as Plumbing Contractor.
ITEM BACKGROUND: The Contractors Examining Board (CEB) voted unanimously
recommending the re-appointment of Mr. Centonze to the CEB at their regularly scheduled March
8th, 2022 meeting.
PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOCC ACTION: Mr. Centonze was originally appointed to one (1)
three (3) year term to the CEB beginning October 30, 1991 and ending October 30, 1994
replacing Mr. David K. Ringemann, and was allowed to serve one (1) additional three (3) year
term. He was re-appointed October 1994 and ending October 1997. After this term, he was not
allowed to serve an additional consecutive three (3) year term due to term limits pursuant to
M.C.C.6-85. Mr. Centonze was appointed to serve one (1) three (3) year term beginning
February 18, 2004 and ending February 18, 2007 replacing Mr. Keith Burgin. He was then re-
appointed to one (1) three (3) year term beginning May 16, 2007 and ending May 16, 2010;
reappointed May 19, 2010 and ending May 19, 2013: re-appointed May 15, 2013 and ending
May 15, 2016: re-appointed April 20, 2016 and ending May 15, 2019: re-appointed May 22,
2019 and ending May 22, 2022.
On March 21, 2007, the BOCC approved advertising the amendment to M.C.C. Section 6-85
term limits for members of the CEB. The ordinance was amended effective May 2, 2007
removing term limitations. Per M.C.C.6-264.(a) regular voting members and two alternate
voting members are appointed by the Board of County Commission (BOCC).
