AGENDA ITEM WORDING: Approval of Amendment 3 to the Amended and Restated Haul-out,
Transfer Stations Operations and Maintenance Agreement Waste Management Inc. of Florida.
ITEM BACKGROUND: The County entered into the Amended and Restated Haul-Out, Transfer
Stations, Operations and Maintenance Agreement (Agreement) on May 21, 2014, which was
amended March 18, 2015 and May 20, 2015. The County has agreed (per separate agenda item to
approval disposal agreement with Waste Management Inc. of Florida, (WM) to accept municipal
solid waste collected by WM from Florida City at its Key Largo transfer station. The County has
negotiated with WM for the residential haul-out rate (the lower rate which is currently $92.02) to be
applied to the MSW delivered under the WM Disposal Agreement. The County started accepting
waste on March 15, 2022 and therefore this Amendment shall be retroactively effective to March 15,
2022.
PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOCC ACTION: The Board Approval the Amended and Restated
Haul-Out, Transfer Stations, Operations and Maintenance Agreement (Agreement) on May 21,
2014.
The Board approved Amendment 1 to the Agreement on March 18, 2015.
The Board approved Amendment 2 to the Agreement on May 20, 2015
