ITEM BACKGROUND: This amendment addresses several fee clarifications in the Building Fee Schedule. Section 1 has been amended to include reference that all applicable fees are subject to the Florida Permit Surcharge as per F.S. 553.721 and F.S. 468.631. This surcharge is not new. Item A-6 has removed the fee for "over-the- counter"permit applications and added a permit application fee for shutters following the recent change in the Monroe County Code Chapter 6-100(a) approved on July 17, 2013 removing shutters as exemptions from work requiring permits. Section K-10 now reflects that the minimum charge to re- open a permit applies to each discipline on the permit. Section K-14 has been changed to outline the revised process for permit investigations and differentiates between requests that are related to closing open/expired permits on a real-estate parcel, and requests that are not related to closing open/expired permits.
