RESOLUTION NO. 057 -2023
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF
COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE
COUNTY, FLORIDA TO AUTHORIZE THE
EXPENDITURE OF UP TO $49,999.99 IN
TOURIST DEVELOPMENT TAX REVENUES
TO FUND THE MONROE COUNTY 200TH
ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION EVENT ON
JULY 3, 2023 AT BIG PINE COMMUNITY
PARK.
WHEREAS, Monroe County will be celebrating its 200th Anniversary in 2023 and will
be putting on a 200th Anniversary Celebration on Big Pine Key in conjunction with the Rotary
Club of the Lower Keys on July 3, 2023, at the Big Pine Key Community Park; and
WHEREAS,the Monroe County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC)hereby finds
that the Event has one of its main purposes the attraction of tourist in accordance with F.S.
125.0104(5) and therefore authorizes that tourist development tax revenues be allocated for the
promotion of the Monroe County 200th Anniversary Celebration(Event).
NOW THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY,FLORIDA, as follows:
1. The BOCC hereby authorizes the allocation of up to $49,999.99 in tourist development
tax revenues for the Monroe County 200th Anniversary Celebration Event to take place
on July 3, 2023, at the Big Pine Key Community Park 3rd of July Celebration.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County, Florida,
at a meeting of said Board held on the 15th day of February 2023.
