Employee of the month: Mary Tucker

The Building Department is glad to have Mary Tucker, Building Coordinator,
named Employee of the Month for she is very deserving of such an honor. Mary
is an exemplary paradigm of a strong work ethic and presents a role model for
fellow staff to follow. She is well respected not only among her peers, but those
she serves from contractors and developers to owner-builders and everyday
citizens. She goes out of her way to help those she comes in contact with and at
the same time maintains the utmost professionalism and order demanded by her
position. It was overheard recently at a meeting of contractors, that while they
may ignore phone calls from everyone else - Mary Tucker's calls are returned
immediately. She is firm where she needs to be and kind when that is what is
called for.
She has a thorough knowledge of all aspects of the building department and if
anyone has a question they know to "ask Mary". Mary rarely misses a day, is a
dedicated employee and responds quickly to phone calls and inquiries, She
started with the County as a permitting technician in 1990 then became the
Licensing Coordinator and now is the Building Department Coordinator at the
Marathon offices.
