Discussion regarding alternating the order of roll call voting at BOCC meetings
ITEM BACKGROUND:
Alternating the order of roll call voting ensures equal advantage / disadvantage in determining difficult
and/or politically sensitive issues, minimizes the potential for heavier lobbying to voting seats 4 and 5
and may make "vote counting" more difficult. It also helps encourage complete research by all
commissioners on all issues.
PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOCC ACTION:
Precedence was set by former Commissioner Sonny McCoy who requested and was obliged with being
called next to last regardless of alpha placement.
