Approval of direction to staff to develop projects at Higgs Beach for which the TDC DAC 1 Special
Beach Fund can be used, and that since the fund was established and set aside for DAC 1 in years past,
that the proposed projects not be subject to the annual TDC capital projects RFP process.
ITEM BACKGROUND:
The Tourist Development Council's District One Advisory Committee established a Special Beach
Fund in 1989. The current balance in the fund is $485,000. Acceptable uses of the fund currently
include capital improvements and beach park projects. Contracts would be let in accordance with
county purchasing requirements.
