AGENDA ITEM WORDING: Approval to advertise Request for Proposals for Rental Car activities at the Teen Center
property on the Key West International Airport.
ITEM BACKGROUND: The Teen Center property has been without a tenant since May 2008. During the construction of
the new Terminal Building, it has been put to good use for employee parking, and storage of construction components.
However, now that the new building is complete, it could be a valuable source of much needed revenue for Airport
operations. Therefore, we request approval to put the property out to bid for a long term lease. Two rental car firms, Hertz
and Enterprise, have expressed an interest in the site, so we plan to tailor the RFP to rental car activities.
