AGENDA ITEM WORDING: Approval to renew the Airport Liability Insurance with Ace Property
Casualty Insurance Company through Arthur J. Gallagher.
ITEM BACKGROUND: Provides liability insurance coverage for Airport Operations (Key West
and Marathon). Per Momoe County purchasing policy this coverage was put out for bids last year with
incumbent providing lowest proposal. Effective date 7/27/09-7/27/10.
PREVIOUS REVELANT BOCC ACTION: Coverage was previously bid in 2008 and approved by
the BOCC 7/16/08.
CONTRACT/AGREEMENT CHANGES: Renew the Airport Liability Insurance with Ace Property
and Casualty Insurance Company through Arthur J. Gallagher. The proposed annual premium is a
decrease of $2,333 (5%) lower than the premium the County is currently paying.
STAFF RECOMMENDATIONS: Approval to accept proposal from Ace Property and Casualty
Insurance at a cost of $47,365.

SUBJ: Airport Liability - Marathon and Key West Intemational
This coverage is to pay on behalf of the County if it shall become legally obligated to pay for damages for
bodily injury and/or property damage caused by an occurrence arising out of the ownership, maintenance or
use of airports owned by the County.
It is recommended that we renew our Airport Liability insurance with ACE Property and Casualty Insurance
Company as submitted by Arthur J. Gallagher at an annual premium of $47,365, which is 5% below last year's
premium, for the term of July 09 - July 10.

Subject: Renewal of Airport Liability Insurance
Dear Maria:
The County's current Airport Liability Insurance is provided by ACE Property and Casualty Insurance
Company and is scheduled to expire on July 27, 2009. The policy currently provides limits of $100
million and does not contain a deductible. The policy provides coverage for claims alleging Bodily Injury
and Property Damage arising out of the operations of Key West International Airport and Marathon
Airport. The premium for the current policy is $49,698.
Arthur J. Gallagher, the agent for the policy, presented a renewal proposal indicating that ACE has agreed
to renew the coverages with the same terms and conditions as the current policy for an annual premium of
$47,365. This represents a reduction of $2,333 (5%) when compared to the expiring policy.
It is believed that Gallagher has presented a favorable renewal and it is recommended that the County
renew its Airport Liability Insurance with ACE Property and Casualty Insurance Company for the period
July 27, 2009 to July 27, 2010 as presented by Arthur J. Gallagher.
