AGENDA ITEM WORDING: Approval of a Resolution for the installation/enforcement of No
Parking signs on Reef Drive.
ITEM BACKGROUND: The North Key Largo Fire Station has requested No Parking signs be
installed on the County right, of way on Reef Drive as stipulated in the attached Resolution. The
ingress/egress of fire trucks and equipment at this location deems this action as necessary for the safety
of the public.

A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA
PROHIBITING THE PARKING OF VEHICLES ALONG
THE SOUTH SIDE OF REEF DRIVE, COMMENCING 167
FEET WEST OF THE INTERSECTION WITH CR905 AND
CONTINUING A TOTAL DISTANCE OF 105 FEET TO AID
IN THE ACCESSIBILITY OF THE ENTRANCE AT THE
NORTH KEY LARGO FIRE STATION BY EMERGENCY
FIRE VEHICLES AND PROVIDING FOR THE
INSTALLATION OF "NO PARKING" SIGNS PURSUANT
TO MONROE COUNTY CODE SEC. 25-27.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Monroe County Code Sec. 25-27, The Board of County
Commissioners may restrict or prohibit the parking, standing or stopping of vehicles along county
roads; and
WHEREAS, Reef Drive and CR905 are county roads on which the North Key Largo
Fire Station is located; and
WHEREAS, the North Key Largo Fire Station fire officials are requesting that the right-
of-way across from the North Key Largo Fire Station be designated as a "No Parking" area; and
WHEREAS, prohibiting vehicles from parking in the right-of-way across from the North
Key Largo Fire Station aids in the accessibility to the fire station entrance by emergency fire
vehicles; and
WHEREAS, the designated no parking area would be posted with "No Parking" signs as
required by Sec. 25-27, Monroe County Code; and
WHEREAS, the designated area would include the south side of Reef Drive,
commencing 167 feet west of the intersection with CR905 and continuing a total distance of 105
feet; and
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA THAT:
1. The south side of Reef Drive, commencing 167 feet west of the intersection
with CR905 and continuing a total distance of 105 feet shall be designated as a
no parking, standing or stopping area.
2. The designated area shall be posted with the appropriate "No Parking" signage
as required by Monroe County Code Sec. 25-27.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County, Florida,
at a regular meeting of said Board held on the _ day of ,2009.
