AGENDA ITEM WORDING: Approval to negotiate a continuing contract with the top 4 ranked
firms for Architectural/Engineering services for projects in which construction costs do not exceed
$2,000,000.
ITEM BACKGROUND: On September 25, 2009 a selection committee of 4 members held a public
meeting to evaluate, score, and rank qualifications of 26 statement of qualifications received from
architects/engineers responding to the request for qualifications. The 4 highest ranked firms in
alphabetical order are CH2MHill; Currie Sowards Aguila Architects, MBMM Architecture; and
William P. Horn Architects (see attached final ranking from 1 to 26).
Florida Statutes 287.055 (2)(g) authorizes the County to secure a Continuing Contract for professional
services for projects in which the estimated construction cost does not exceed $2 million.
PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOCC ACTION: On July 15, 2009 the BOCC approved to Request for
Qualifications for a continuing contract for Architectural/Engineenng services as authorized by F.S.
287.055 (2)(g).
