Horton, Airports Direct~ 1 0/03/06 Award of Service John Avila 15 Years John Avila is another of our fine airport employees that has come up through the ranks to serve in a leadership capacity. He is currently the Superintendent of Maintenance at the Key West Intemational Airport. He came to us with 20 years of experience from City Electric, now known as Keys Energy System. That experience has been invaluable to us over the last 15 years. Our airport is a 24 hour a day facility and our systems and machinery have a nasty habit of breaking down at the most inconvenient times. John is the first person we call for maintenance emergencies, no matter what time of the day or night. He is truly on call 24(7. During the last 15 years he has routinely responded to an increased workload at the airport as new buildings and systems came online that required constant maintenance and repair. John is always at work, always on time, and always dependable. We really appreciate his 15 years of outstanding service to Monroe County and look forward to working with him for many more years in the future.
