AGENDA ITEM WORDIN(;: Approval to extend contraet with Sub Zero, Inc. on a month-to-month
basis for the central air conditioning maintenance and repair for the Lower Keys facilities.
ITEM BACKGROUND: On October 19, 2006, the current contract with Sub Zero, Inc. will expire
with no additional options to renew. A month-to-month contract extension is needed until new bids
can be achieved.
PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOCC ACTION: On September 17,2003, the BOCC approved to award
bid and enter into a contract with Sub Zero, Inc. for the Lower Keys A/C Maintenanee and Repair. On
November 19, 2003, the BOCC approved to amend the Contract to include the Monroe County
Juvenile Justice Center to the contract specifications. On August 18, 2004, the BOCC approved the
first of two one-year renewal options, and on April 20, 2005, the BOCC approved a Contract
Amendment to include the costs of additional refrigerants for replacement to the contract costs. On
July 20, 2005, the BOCC approved the second and final one-year renewal option.

On October 19, 2006, the current contract with Sub Zero, Inc. will expire with no additional

CONTRACT EXTENSION
(Lower Keys Central A/C Maintenance and Repair)
THIS Extension is made and entered into this day of October, 2006, between
MONROE COUNTY, a political subdivision of the State of Florida, and SUB ZERO, INC., a
Florida corporation, to extend the contract dated September 17, 2003, as amended on November
19,2003 and April 20, 2005, and renewed on August 18,2004 and July 20,2005.
WITNESSETH:
WHEREAS, the contract dated September 17, 2003, between the parties expires on Oetober 19,
2006; and
WHEREAS, the parties desire to continue their relationship under the current eontract as
amended and renewed, on a month to month basis;
NOW, THEREFORE, the parties agree as follows:
1. Effective October 20, 2006, the contract shall continue on a month to month basis.
2. In all other respects, the original agreement dated September 17, 2003, as amended on
November 19,2003 and April 20, 2005, and as renewed on August 18,2004 and July 20,
2005, remains in full force and effect.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties have hereunto set their hands and seal, the day and year
