Dear Mr. Horton.
The bid documents provide to URS Corp. for the referenced project have been reviewed
and tabulated (See Attached). The bids reviewed revealed the follow bid deficiencies:
P.J.'S Land Clearings and Excavating, Inc. was the apparent low bidder in the amount of
$43,000.00. However, there were mathematical errors, non- compliance insurance
information, and missing required license for this type of work. When advised of the
differences the contractor provided a letter confirming the total bid price ($43,000.00) as
their intended bid. They also provided a copy of the required license which was issued in
their sub-contractors name, but no insurance infonnation was provided. The significantly
lower price is also a concern.
DOT Palm, Inc. Landscaping & Tree Services; the second low bidder in the amount of
$ 93,600.00 provided only a total bid price with no required bid fonns or information.
Therefore, unless the County chooses to waive the above missing documentation, or
provide an opportunity to submit it, URS recommends award to Tri-Tech Construction
and Design, Inc. for this project in the amount of$ 106,456.45.
Please advise if further infonnation is needed.
