ITEM BACKGROUND: The contract with EE&G provides for two one-year renewal options and an
increase in monthly payment in accordance with the percentage change in the U.S. Department of
Commerce Consumer Price Index (CPI-U) for all Urban Consumers as reported by the U.S. Bureau of Labor
Statistics at December 31 of the previous year of .1 %.
PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOCC ACTION: On September l7, 2008, the BOCC approved award of
bid and execute a new contract with. E E & G Environmental Services, LLC.
CONTRACT/AGREEMENT CHANGES: Contract renewal will commence October l, 2009 and
terminate September 30, 2010; monthly payments will increase by .l % CPI-U from $8,083 33
($97,000.00 annually) to $8,091.42 ($97,097.04 ~ually); emergency work from $6l6.00 per hour to
$6l6.62 per hour.

Exercise First Option to Renew Agreement with E E & G
Environmental Services, LLC, for Professional Beach
Cleaning, Maintenance and Beautification at Higgs Beach,
Key West
On September 30, 2009, the agreement with E E & G Environmental Services, LLC.'s (EE&G)
will expire but provides for two additional renewal options and an increase in monthly payment in
accordance with the percentage change in the U.s. Department of Commerce Consumer Price

I hereby request approval to exercise the first option to renew the contract with Evans
Environmental & Geological Science & Management, LLC, (EE&G) for the beach cleaning,
maintenance, & beautification of Higgs Beach.

111 RENEWAL AGREEMENT
PROFESSIONAL BEACH CLEANING, MAINTENANCE AND
BEAUTIFICATION, HIGGS BEACH, KEY WEST
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA
THIS 1ST RENEWAL AGREEMENT is made and entered into this _ day of
- .,. , 2009, between MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA ("COUNTY"), a
politkal subdivision of the State of Florida, whose address is 1100 Simonton Street, Key
West, Florida 33040, and EE&G ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES, LLC.
("CONTRACTOR"), a Florida limited liability company, whose address is 14505
Commerce Way, Suite #400, Miami, Lakes, FL 33016.
WHEREAS, the parties hereto did on September 17,2008 enter into an agreement
to provide professional beach cleaning, maintenance and beautification, Higgs Beach, Key
West, Monroe County, Florida, (hereinafter "Original Agreement"); and
WHEREAS, the parties have found the Original Agreement to be mutually
beneficial and;
WHEREAS, the parties find that it would be mutually beneficial to enter into this
amendment Glnd 1 st renewal agreement; now therefore
IN CONSIDERATION of the mutual promises and covenants contained herein, it
is agreed as follows:
I. In accordance with Paragraph 4 of the Original Agreement, the County
exercises the option to renew the Original Agreement for the first of the two
(2) renewal options. This term will commence on October 1, 2009 and
terminate September 30, 2010; and the amount shall be adjusted in
accordance annually with the percentage change in the U.S. Department of
Commerce Consumer Price Index (CPI-V) for all Urban Consumers as
reported by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics at December 31 of the
previous year of .1 % with payments increasing from $8,083.33 to $8,091.42
per month; from $97,000.00 to $97,097.04 annually; and from $616.00 per
hour emergencies to $616.62.
2. Except as set forth in paragraph I of this 1 Sl Renewal Agreement, in all
other respects, the terms and conditions set forth in the Original Agreement
remain in full force and effect.
