A RESOLUTION BY THE MONROE COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS AUTHORIZING THE RENAMING OF PIMILICO LANE TO
PIMLICO LANE IN THE SUBDIVISION OF CROSS KEY WATERWAY ESTATES
SECTION 3 PLAT BOOK 6 PAGE 61 IN KEY LARGO AND DIRECTING STAFF
TO ERECT SIGNAGE AND PROVIDE THIS RESOLUTION TO THE COUNTY'S
GIS DATABASE TO REFLECT THE RENAMING OF THE ROAD TO PIMLICO
LANE
WHEREAS, Florida Statute 336.05 authorizes the Monroe County Board of County
Commissioners to name streets and roads; and
WHEREAS, Florida Statute 336.08 authorizes the Monroe County Board of County
Commissioners to establish, locate, change or discontinue public county roads by resolution; and
WHEREAS, Pimilico Lane, located in the Cross Key Waterway Estates Section 3 Subdivision Plat
Book 6 page 61 in Key Largo, is more commonly spelled Pimlico; and
WHEREAS, the residents of Pimilico Lane would like to change the name to reflect the
commonly accepted spelling; and
WHEREAS, in order to effectuate the renaming, staff is requesting passage of this resolution to
approve the renaming of the road, and to authorize for signage to be erected in the name of Pimlico
Lane and to direct staff to provide this Resolution to the County's GIS database so the name of Pimlico
Lane will be reflected in the GIS database, which is the resource used by the post office and emergency
services;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE
COUNTY, FLORIDA that the Monroe County Board of County Commissioners shall hereby:
1. Rename and recognize Pimlico Lane as the street name for which was previously platted as
Pimilico Lane; and
2. Erect street signage in the name of Pimlico Lane; and
3. Direct Staff to provide this Resolution to the County's GIS database to allow for the name of
Pimlico Lane to be reflected in the GIS database.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County, Florida, at a
regular meeting held on the 81"day of November, 2023.
