RESOLUTION NO. 209-1989
A RESOLUTION ADVISING THE CONGRESSIONAL
DELEGATION TO SUPPORT HOUSE BILL 634 AND TO
SUPPORT THE DELETION OF GOVERNMENTAL ENTITIES
BEING COVERED BY SECTION 89 OF THE INTERNAL
REVENUE CODE.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County,
Florida, desires to express its support of House Bill 634 and the
deletion of governmental entities being covered by Section 89 of
the Internal Revenue Code to the Monroe County Congressional
Delegation, and
WHEREAS, if governmental entities are not exempted from
Section 89 of the Internal Revenue Code, the bookkeeping require-
ments would be onerous and costly to local governments, now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, as follows:
1. That said Board hereby urges the Monroe County Congres-
sional Delegation to support House Bill 634 and the deletion of
governmental entities being covered by Section 89 of the Internal
Revenue Code.
2. That the Clerk of said Board is hereby directed to
forward a certified copy of this resolution to the Honorable
Dante Fascell, the Honorable Bob Graham, and the Honorable Connie
Mack.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Board held
on the 11th day of April, A.D. 1989.
