RESOLUTION NO. 042 -1986
RESOLUTION REQUESTING THAT INSURANCE
COMPANIES OPERATING IN THE STATE OF FLORIDA
BE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE LIABILITY INSURANCE TO
BUSINESSES CONSISTENT WITH MINIMUM INSURANCE
REQUIREMENTS IMPOSED BY THE STATE.
WHEREAS,
the
Legislature
presently
requires
certain
businesses and other entities in the State of Florida to maintain
minimum liability insurance coverage, and
WHEREAS, said businesses and other entities are more and
more frequently being denied the currently required minimum
liability insurance coverage by insurance companies, and
WHEREAS,
there exists an inability of said Florida
businesses and other entities to locate insurance companies that
will provide the mandated liability insurance coverage, which has
forced or will force many businesses to cease operation, now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that by adoption of this resolution,
Monroe County hereby requests the Legislature, the Department of
Insurance and any other pertinent Departments to do all proper
acts to require insurance companies doing business in the State
of Florida to provide insurance policies consistent with the
minimum liability insurance requirements imposed upon certain
businesses and other entities in the State of Florida.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Board held
